Welcome to the 23^rd Annual Jett Family NCAA Tournament!

The 23^rd Annual JettNet.ORG Tournament begins on Selection Sunday, March 17, 2024.

You will be able to complete your bracket after the NCAA Selection Committee seeds the men’s Division 1 bracket, which is usually around 8:00 pm Eastern Time on Selection Sunday. An email notice will be sent to last year's participants after the bracket becomes available.

This is a Family Fun tournament, so we do not charge a fee to join and no cash prizes are awarded. The Winner gets one-year's worth of bragging rights.

As demonstrated by our previous JettNet.ORG Tournament Champions, you don't need to know anything about basketball to join in on the fun. Just make your best guess and see what happens!

The tournament is open to all Jett Family friends, relatives, and co-workers and their friends and relatives. Tournament rules, important dates, and instructions for joining and playing in the tournament are provided below. We hope you have fun and enjoy playing along. Good Luck!

Important Dates to Remember

Bracket Opens: Selection Sunday, March 17, 2024. The bracket will not be available for you to make your picks until after the teams have been selected by the NCAA on March 17 (usually around 8:00 PM Eastern Time).

Bracket Closes: Entries must be received before Noon Eastern Time (11 am Central) on Thursday, March 21, 2024 (prior to the start of the first game of the First Round).

Instructions

1. When the bracket is available on Selection Sunday, select your name from the drop-down list. If your name is not located in the drop-down list, click on "New" and enter your name (Last Name, First Name).
2. Enter your valid email address. Brackets with invalid email addresses will not be accepted.
3. From the "Affiliation" drop down list, please select your affiliation to the Jett or Sicking Families.
4. Make your picks. (For each game, click on the desired team. Be sure to complete the entire bracket.)
5. Enter your tie-breaker score (you must enter your prediction of the combined score of both teams in the Championship Game. See "Tie Breaker" below for additional info).
6. Click the "Submit Picks" button.
7. After submitting your picks, you should receive a confirmation email from pkjett1@gmail.com. Check your Spam forlder if you do not receive a confirmetion email.
8. Sit back and enjoy the games.
9. Check this site after each game to see how you are doing!

The Fine Print

• All Jett Family friends, relatives and co-workers and their friends, relatives and co-workers are invited to play!
• After the bracket opens on Selection Sunday, March 17^th, make your selections before Noon Eastern Time (11 am Central) on Thursday, March 21, 2024 (before the start of the First Round games).
  
• Multiple entries from one player are accepted (within reason), but players should use their real name. Players submitting multiple entries should use a number in the Player Name to denote a separate entry (example: Smith, John 2). Note: If an identical Player Name is used for multiple brackets, the last bracket entry submitted will be used. (This rule allows players to change or correct their picks prior to the entry deadline.)
• Only legitimate player names are eligible to win the JettNet.ORG Tournament. While pseudonyms and false names may be accepted by the JettNet.ORG Tournament Directors to participate in the tournament, they are not be eligible to win the esteemed JettNet.ORG Tournament.
• Submitted brackets will not be posted for public viewing until the afternoon of Thursday March 16^th. A list of Players who have submitted brackets will be available beginning March 13^th so you can check the list to make sure your bracket was received by the JettNet.ORG Tournament Committee.

Points are awarded as follows for each correct pick:

First Four Play-in Games	Points are not awarded for the First Four Play-in Games
First Round (Field of 64 Teams)	5 points plus First Round Upset Points*
Sweet 16	7 points
Elite Eight	10 points
Final Four	20 points
Semi-Finals	35 points
Championship	50 points

*Special First Round BONUS POINTS!!!

First Round Upset Points ~ Rewards players who correctly pick underdogs in the First Round.
Seed Differential Method: awards the difference in seed values for correctly picking an underdog to win. For example, if a player correctly picks a #15 seed to beat a #2 seed in the First Round, the player is awarded 13 points in addition to the standard First Round points.

Tie Breaker The tiebreaker is only used to break ties at the end of the tournament.

• First Tie Breaker: Player with the most accurate prediction of the combined score of both teams in the Championship Game.
• Second Tie Breaker: Player with the highest pick percentage.
• Third Tie Breaker: Player with the most teams in the finals.

NCAA 68 Game Format

The NCAA expanded the tournament to 68 teams in the 2010 season with four Play-in Games, called the First Four Play-in Games. After the four play-in games are complete, 64 teams end up competing in the MEANINGFUL bracket that is used by the JettNet.ORG Tournament.

Consistent with JettNet.ORG past practice, points will not be awarded for picking the winners of First Four Games. Let's be honest; no one cares about the play-in games. In addition, players will not be penalized for choosing a losing First Four play-in team.

Brackets will be accepted after the NCAA announces the bracket selections on Selection Sunday, March 17^th. If you are concerned the outcome of the First Four Play-in Games may impact your bracket, simply wait until after the play-in games have been completed on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 to submit your bracket.
